Hi Cary--

Thank you for posting your buy targets. I am glad that your more rigorous analysis is compatible with my views.

However, the second part of your post is disturbing to my investment perspective. Your concern that 10 years from now, JDSU may have half its peak sales is incompatible with my view of a strong long term growth trend. My understanding is that OC-768 (and subsequent generations) will require new, more expensive 40Gbps components. Therefore, the increased need for bandwidth should drive the growth of JDSU. My fundamental assumption is that LT new applications will drive increasing demand for bandwidth.

My technical knowledge of this sector is much less than I would like. What thoughts generated your concern of a decade long sales slump for JDSU?

Also, perhaps a technically savvy person would give an opinion about the roll out of OC-768, long term prospects of JDSU, and correct any inaccuracies in my statements.
