That would shake things up at Sprint and Verizon.

Ben, I pretty much agree with your take on possible outcomes and consequences. However, your last statement, quoted above, caught my eye. I have thought for some time that most of these wireless telecos have their approach firmly grounded in the old regulated mind set. Maybe somewhat less so for Sprint, but still a certain arrogant "take what we give you and be damn glad you've got it" approach.

I think the CDMA operators have been very slow to take advantage of the relative spectrum efficiency they enjoy vis a vis other carriers. In addition, I'm extremely under whelmed with the existing, and projected plans they have for data.

A shining exception to that general indictment is Leap. They understand, and maximize, their CDMA advantage. Hence, a new wireless CDMA carrier under the direct influence of Q*, and not constrained by the hidebound thinking being employed at Sprint and Verizon, could do much to blow open the wireless world. If CDMA is that much better, then I say let the ass kicking begin. :>)

All JMHO.
