The drugs or lack of them help her come to the conclusion that her husband has her trapped in a miserable life and to punish him she removes the thing he cherishes most. The children and her chains morph into the same thing; eliminate them and she removes her chains and punishes him at the same time.

The drugs will wear off or be administered as the case may be, but too sadly the kids can't come back to reality with their Mom. As disturbed as she had to have been to do something like that, the nightmare for her is just beginning. she probably spend the rest of her life in an asylum someplace, deservidly so, IMO. What good will come of executing her besides revenge? If my analysis is anywhere near the truth, then her husband may end up in an asylum too, and she will end up accomplishing what she set out to do in her tormented mind.

Chas ;(
