Yep, I agree... (seems we have come full circle from our FCEL discussion...) Indeed, to get away from the "status quo" and the accumulated vested interests of the existing power industries, is why we have an urgent need to develop a "hydrogen" based electrical power economy rather than gas, coal or oil based. Some may ask; where do we get the hydrogen from? Well, at the risk of irritating some folks, why not from nuclear powered electrolysis of water. In spite of a nasty, 20 plus year old, reputation the (unpalatable to some), evidence suggests that the modern, properly maintained nuclear plants are environmentally clean, safe and reliable... just ask the French... and surely in this day and age, we can figure out how to responsibly handle the surprisingly small amounts of waste. Nuclear power aces the more politically appealing hydro, wind, solar, geothermal etc, schemes when it comes to generating power...
Over and out from me on this topic... Cheers all... unapologetic@storm-in-a-teacup.com |
