TE, I didn't say anything about companies being innocent. I said it is up to the individual to determine if they are or not. If you can't swallow that whole, it is of little concern to me. The collection of personal data on individuals is, in most cases, achieved by sending those stupid surveys with newly purchased merchandise, or through snail mail. If any individual is stupid enough to fill in all of the blanks on those surveys, they deserve to get bilked. I fill out only enough information to receive my warranty, which is minimal. If the government is allowed to police every detail of every business, the next logical step is for government to police every detail of your personal life.
