Interest in international soccer in the US seems to come round once every four years, like the Olympics. The US looks to be already through and if they get a good draw could get to the last 16 this time. The way the WC qualifying works, it's easier for them to make it to the finals than Brazil or the major Europeans.Australia have it even worse: they dominate the Oceania sector in order to win the honor of a probable playoff with . . . Brazil!

Argentina looks to me the favorites, with or without Veron with the Europeans struggling with the heat, unless Holland can get their passing game going.
