i was a little leery of shorting after my experience with the amzn beast in '98. i'm afraid i just didn't have the nerve to short a full blown mania in march 2000. fundamentals are worse than they were in apr 2000 and valuations aren't really much cheaper. sure stocks are down 70%, 80%, 90%, etc., but earnings are down even more. the stocks i want to short are nyse non-tech stocks anyway. those still have plenty of meat on the bone and people consider them safe. GE and the sluts for instance.
