[chat Free lunch by choice ] SteveG

<jw>Damn I didn't know we were providing free lunch to all posters, both rude and polite!>

Kind of the nature of a public forum, Jim. Even YOU get to be both rude and/or polite, and to partake of the "free lunch".

I don't give information to rude people period, and I choose who I will and will not post information to, as does everyone. Besides the information you requested has been posted in the past, look it up.

True I have been rude in the past, when it is a reciprocal of what is posted to me, or in direct conflict of the FAQ's Other times when I have been rude where it was not warranted please note that
I post a public apology very quickly, the same for any incorrect information I might inadvertently post. (very rare in reference to the later) But it would appear to the casual observer that you never let up on Pat.

<jw>Perhaps in the future you might express yourself differently in the first place, and you might get answers to the questions you pose!>

As you may have gleaned from my previous posts here Jim, I'm pretty anti-hype (on any stock that I own or follow - not just Amati). So my question was not in the spirit of asking for an opinion or for speculation. I was sharply questioning a stated fact for the public record to ensure the emphasis would be on accuracy, and not speculation.
Nonetheless the response was somewhat ambiguous. I wish that there was NOT the kind of hype on this thread that requires sharper, more cautious verification. But unfortunately, that's not the case here.

Could you not have asked the same question without all the condemnation?

Such as:
Perhaps " For the record Pat, could you please explain the approx. percentage of royalities Amati will receive from Moto on each chip, you may have posted this information before I missed it, and I've tried going back and looking but with 20K posts it is a bit frustrating"

Thanks JW

And SteveG, specifically please state your use of the word "hype" ?

Hype 1: To put on or decieve, as in deception 2: extravagant promotion or advertising

I hope you mean #2. and in that case I don't view the information presented here as extravagant, since this is the Amati Investors Thread. However if the same information were presented in let's say the AWRE thread then I might consider it extravagant.

What specifically do you mean by your last sentence in that paragraph??
I wish that there was NOT the kind of hype on this thread that requires sharper, more cautious verification. But unfortunately, that's not the case here.

I don't recall Pat or I Lying, deceiving. or putting out bogus information. Or maybe your referring to someone else's post which I may have missed? Of course I'm sure it would take more than one or two deceptive posts for you to use such a stringent tone, and want a more cautious verification. So where have people deceived you so bad that you need to take such tone when requesting information?

I noticed you referenced MF and the fiasco over there and mentioning Pat. Noteing (Note, no specific link between Pat Mudge, Motley Fool, Amati and stock hyping was explicitly made by the WSJ article.)

I would Imagine you tipped toed around enough to give one the indication of possible involvement, yet not enough to make an insinuation flat out. Very good.

I will give you credit on the fact you did state "First, I will note and acknowledge that it IS referenced that there are royalties to AMTX from MOT, EXACTLY as Pat had stated".

I'm glad to see you made this statement, thank you, because since March 96 I have been reading Pat's postings, and have never seen Pat put forth information that was not as accurate as humanly possible in regards to Amati.

Yes Both Pat and I (and other quiet types who speak up now and then) may sound very positive, even during the darkest of moments, but Pat and I, having given the past 18 months of our time to defending against those who post incorrect statements without factual foundation, we've learned a thing or two, and have many reasons based on facts for having such a positive attitude.

I don't have any reason to Hype this stock given my small investment, so why you may ask do I spend so much time in it's defense? Knowledge of the company, superior technology, and making excellent deals with it's large partners.
And I can't stand the ANTI- HYPE people put out with no basis in facts.

Pat to my knowledge has never ever said anything un-factual, and have no idea what your intent is, But for the boy who keeps crying wolf, and then does not get the help (or full explanations) when he asks, I have no sympathy. Nor do I intend on continuing to waste my time responding to the rhetoric of others (and there have been many) which have used every trick in the book, over the past 18 months.

I have since my early days of posting here tried to keep to the facts when discussing Amati and it's technology. Sure I use the information I poses in my archive to sometimes prognosticate in to the future, SIng a song or two or 3 or 4. but when it comes down to posts that are met to inform. you'll see I stay with the facts.

Pat sometimes might put a positive spin on information presented , but she has never, let me repeat never to my knowledge posted information which is not the truth. So what ever your agenda is????? please change it or take it somewhere else.

Would I defend AWRE in the same fashion, Hell No, why? I'm not going to bash, but I have never seen anything there, and they sold their Intellectual Property to USRX at the drop of a hat, I'm glad Amati's IP is not so easily had.

You also won't find me bashing in the other DSL threads.........................

I have cut down my posting here , due to other priorities, (still taking time to attend N+I '97 & SC '97) though Pat continues to inform the latest information from around the industry at the pace of the Energizer Bunny, and when she does not know an answer (most likely technical in nature) she defers to others in the group, or goes out and gets it. On Pat's behalf she has come a long way in understanding the technical issues over the past 18 months.

Pat talks to people though out the industry, and reports the information here, she pokes, prods, and uses her creative talents to get Amati Management to tell her anything we (she) might not know that is public information.

And for the life of me, I can't understand why anyone would try to say she is trying to deceive or why anyone would use anything other than cordial words when posting to her, or talking about her. Unless of course there is an underlying reason which has not been disclosed.

You may ask why am I defending Pat? For some of the same reasons I defend Amati, the reasons are many, but in Pats case there are quite a few more and 98% of them are in her (approx.) 4000 postings spread from SI to AOL which are full of excellent information.

Stay with opinions based and factual information, and you won't have any complaints from me, only hard debates.

BTW, thanks for the Edgar 10Q url, Jim.

Your most welcome, thats why I maintain my archive.
