"The US need to split the wireline out of the Baby Bells into a separate companies, which would own the plant from the MDF out to the RJ11 jack."

elmatador- Well that's what the 1996 Telecom Act and hundreds of millions of dollars worth of lawyers fees and tens of thousands of pounds of paper with rules on them has failed to accomplish. It's a case of government trying to "create" competition instead of "promote" it. Government will never be efficient enough to create viable business. It's not structured that way and never will be.

So I say, the heck with the Telecom Act. Let's try something new. Pit MSO against ILEC and take off ALL the gloves (including ISP forced access). Now that would be a heck of a fight. -MikeM(From Florida)
