Hag, on one hand you have stated it is carelessness on the part of the individual to allow any personal information to fall into the hands of businesses that allows them to "know" you in ways that you would not even reveal to your close friends. The implication is that I should be extremely paranoid if I am concerned about my privacy because business is not to be trusted and will take advantage of that information if they possibly can turn it into sales. Later you imply that corporations are beneficent and I shouldn't worry about my personal information being misused if I have nothing to hide.

Then you say it is really the "demo/lib" government I should fear. Allow me to point out that in the past thirty years we have had twice as much Republican government as Democratic, and the government probably already has more information about you than your insurance company. And one more thing, if you want an example of government misuse of personal information you need look no further than the Republican administration in Florida, which with the help of large campaign contributors to GWB, knowingly corrupted the election process there last fall. That was a case of a govt/business partnership to collect, share and use information about individuals, without their knowledge, that turned out to be full of errors.

Shall we look for more of this in the future? I don't see any Republicans calling for a purge of the databases or standing up to say this was wrong.
