Energy use in California is down now. So why the shortage? I'll tell you why, because there never was a shortage except one that was manipulated as Bush took office in order to squash environmental standards, enrich Bush cronies and create a massive power and money shift from California and other places to Texas. These will be some of the casualities in 2002. Jeb Bush, Tom DeLay, Dick Cheney (will beg off because of health) and the GOP congress. From then on Bush will be a lame duck just waiting to be kicked out of office and posing as a moderate as much as he can. Just as he posed as a conservative before. fact is he doesn't really stand for anything so all he can do is pose and utter slogans his handlers give him. He's a boob. Not even a smart man. Not the one we need leading us.
