"That fool doesn't even know Intel's PROFITS last quarter were 350% larger than AMD's profits !! "
Yep ..Net income in q1/01 for INTC, from statement posted at Intel.com is $485 million (i.e $0.07/sh)...Net income in q1/01 for AMD, from statement at AMD.com is $125 million (i.e $0.37/sh)...
In q1, INTC, 30 times the size of AMD, had profits 3.5 times that of AMD...Any fool should be proud of such performance...Heck, when q2 numbers roll out, that $485 million achieved in q1 will probably look huge...and the 350% may well turn out to be INTC's high point of the year...
Seems to me the only fool is one who is exalting INTC's q1 profit performance of $450 million vis a vis AMD's of $125 million, given AMD is a company 1/30th INTC's size...Recent trends indicate that INTC q2 profits will not only not be 3.5 times AMD's but may well be less than 1.0 times AMD's...(in fact, INTC red ink in q2 has an outside chance of occurring)...
To be certain, AMD's q2 eps will be a minimum 200% greater than INTC's, maybe even 350% greater...and the very real prospect of AMD's q2 net income (i.e. minimum of $75 million) exceeding that of INTC's q2 net income, if eventuated, will mark an historic and major crossover in comparative financial performances, and probably signal once and for all the changing of the guard in the microprocessor sector...such an historic and major crossover would almost certainly be accompanied by a major realignment of relative stock prices!!!
