Eric L: Thanks. Re <<Kathleen Abernathy (R) sworn in, in May. Not sure if the other 2 Bush nominees Michael Copps (D) & Kevin Martin (R) have been sworn in yet. Martin replaces Kennard.>>

The irony is rich.

Abernathy was sworn in as has been Sen Hollings former staffer Copps, but Martin seems to be on "hold" in the Senate.

Will be most interesting to see what Sen Hollings does as the new Chairman, since Pres Bush nominated his man to the Commission.

Will there be reciprocal courtesy? Suggest not holding breath for that.

Most likely that that Martin is being blocked as of now at least.

Assume his chances of replacing Kennard are slim to none.

Would not be at all surprising if the FCC has to make do with a split commission, 2 democrats and 2 republicans for many many moons.

But no knowledge, just speculation from afar.

Best.
