David, you post is an example of what's wrong with Americans. Trying to buy cheap notebooks when you could pay 5 time $1000 for a notebook. Think of the employees, the shareholders, think of the children! At $1000 notebooks could become as common a sight on the streets as a briefcase. With prices so low crooks wouldn't even bother to steal them. Take Nike shoes for example. With cost so high, the criminal industry is robust and growing. $150 for a basketball shoes keep things moving. If the shoes were $30 nobody would steal and the industry could collapse! :o)
