I'm 45 and a citizen who has nothing to do with any political groups. They sent me literature and I throw it away. I use my own deductive reasoning and try to see through the spin and see what's being covered up, and why our leaders are positioning themselves in certain ways. I also did extensive studies into the S+L debacle for a project once and that gave me knowledge as to how political corruption, soft money and imbalances of power bring the pigs to the trough. During the Reagan administration the GOP had Wright of Texas and others cooperating with them to deregulate the S+L's leading to a grand pig-fest at our expense. The same thing started happening with the energy debacle as the GOP controlled White House, House and Senate and energy types were in firm control - it seemed - so the pigs stampeded to the troughs. But the Jeffords move and public backlash has put all that in jeopardy and we should all hope the pigs get slaughtered here. I'm for campaign finance reform and olimiting the influence of RNC, DNC and the rest of the lobbyists who seem to contro our government, particularly this White House and Congress. Tom Delay is the soft money king. Taking Gingrich's greed to a much higher level. And the problem is when one side does it the other side has to as well to keep up. So we have Nader as a muckraker demonizing both sides equally though he's supposed to be an environmentalist, and costing Gore the election. Such folly and madness. McCain helped Bush win and now he is owed campaign finace reform. Problem is the GOP is so addicted to the easy money they just won't go cold turkey. And parts of the Dems are dragging their fet on it too. What we need is a strong grass roots wave of disgust to clear the dirty money out of DC. It only costs us as we've just seen with these energy price spikes, which had very little to do with supply and everything to do with greed and corruption.
