password entry dialog continued.... i visited netscape communicator newsgroups to see what they were saying, if anything, about this pesky little dialog. fwiw, i found this.... ******************************* "Q: Can I get rid of the 'password entry dialog box' that asks for my password every time i pull up the mail in NS 4.75? A: Configure it this way... The flag waving standalone mail utility program - NS Notify.exe can be disabled, unless you are on a Net and want to check mail when NetScape is not running. Remove the NSNotify shortcut from the START UP menu. To enable the Internal mail checker... EDIT menu\|PREFERENCES\|MAIL & GROUPS\|MAIL SERVER\|EDIT. Checkmark the two upper boxes and type in a time interval for checking. 10 minutes would be good. (mark's note: i like every one minute <g>) If you want a sound when mail arrives checkmark the 'enable mail sounds' box under MAIL & NEWS (GROUPS). Click on OK to exit the dialogue boxes. The mail sound is set in Control Panel.
