Deleting all traces of communicator is not that hard. I got really aggravated with this bug one day and did exactly that. After I downloaded a new copy of Communicator I realized I had deleted my address book and my email. Clever as I was, i could not find these files any where so I had to rebuild my address book from my other computer. Not good. I'd love to be able to isolate my email (messages sent and received) and my addy book before doing the delete. Otherwise, downloading a clean copy seems like a simple winning strategy.

I looked at the two things you posted that you found from user groups. I couldn't find any NSNOTIFY.exe on my Startup menu and I couldn't find any PREFS.JS file to modify. Zero for zero on those. C'est la vie. My perennial strategy with this stuff is to go into a Zen waiting mode until the solution springs out at me and everything gets well. I don't like to spend too much time being frustrated.
