I'm tempted to say yes to yank your chain but no they aren't. Hot dogs are made like all your other processed meat is in government regulated plants. The only difference is that hot dogs have chicken lips in them.

BTW, the first test of all beef franks was held in Galesburg, Illinois who bills itself, or did, the swine capitol of the world. Now that's dumb.
