E, re blocking senders in OE: I've told OE not to download messages containing certain words or phrases in the subject line. That has cut down considerably on offers of college diplomas and some nastier stuff. :) Preview pane: that's the only way I view messages because it is so convenient. I don't understand how opening a message can let the sender know you opened it if you do it offline. Text messages are already downloaded by the time you see the subject line. Only 'rich text' [html] messages have to fetch content from web sites after you open them - sometimes. Gottfried
