Any candidates? Most of the stocks coming off the list seem to be weak software stocks and dot.coms, none of whom are likely to have much cash. The stocks coming on seem to be primarily regional banking and financial companies, oil & gas stocks, medical stocks, and a hodge podge of others. The stocks coming on the index seem more likely to have cash available for buybacks.

I did look at all the additions and subtractions, and it would appear to me that the critical point for making the index will be a market cap of about $140 million. Stocks on the bubble appear to be:

Potential Deletions

BELM 133 8.40 -2.33 10 Distributor of Storage Products

I've never tracked this before, but my logical guess would be that as we get close to Friday these stocks will break one way or the other as funds are forced to take last minute postions. I would guess that the action will be less dramatic for stocks that are clearly in or clearly out.
