E, I have dialup, so 'offline' to me means not connected to the internet. I suppose if all fails you could change your e-mail name.

I know for a fact that once I see the header it's been downloaded because I can click on the header and the preview opens [when I'm not connected].

But even with always on cable I doubt very much that spammers know when you open their e-mail.[as long as you don't reply to them]

PS: Yahoo and hotmail do a good job shunting most spam into a bulk mail folder.
