Doc, great thoughts! Okay, so be it . . . we'll carry on at the NAUN, SPWX and/or ELON boards (all excellent choices, IMO, given our interests and the potential for those companies and their stocks) if/when necessary. We'll just cross that bridge when we get to it (hopefully never).
On another subject, looks like there's hope for me yet:
CARLSBAD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 25, 2001--Callaway Golf (NYSE: ELY) and IBM (NYSE:IBM) today announced they are teaming up to offer an innovative technology solution designed to provide golfers everywhere with Callaway Golf clubs made to each golfer's exact specifications . . . A key technological component of the Callaway Golf Custom Fitting Solution(TM) program is a Callaway proprietary solution powered by IBM ThinkPad T21 Series notebooks that will allow golf professionals to record swing data such as ball speed, clubhead speed and projected distance during a fitting session. The computer program, using expert feedback from the golf professional, then calculates which specifications would best fit each individual golfer.
Should be able to knock a few strokes off my handicap (20ish) with the help of IBM/Callaway (there's my wishful thinking again). Callaway? Hmmmm-m . . . sounds like IBM will team up with just about anyone these days. You'd think they could surely come up with something more exciting/profitable than just trying to improve one's golf score (not a bad idea, though) . . . like a major new endeavor/thrust in the voice space via an enhanced alliance with GMGC. C'mon IBM, give us some good news.
