More Zoran/CompCore re-hash.....................

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 16, 1997--Zoran
Corporation (NASDAQ:ZRAN) and its subsidiary CompCore Multimedia
have begun to publicly demonstrate its full software SoftDVD
application including copy protection software.
This is the first complete software package enabling PC's to play
encrypted Hollywood movies without requiring specialized chips or
boards. Earlier this month Zoran announced it had received a copy
protection license from the CSS Interim Licensing Organization.
Zoran's DVD hardware and software solutions will be demonstrated
at PC Expo on June 17-19 in New York, Booth No. 1079, and the
Windows World Tokyo June 25-28, Booth No. 533.
"It's very exciting being able to now play Hollywood movies using
our all-software DVD solution on an Intel processor equipped with
Intel MMX technology," said Isaac Shenberg, vice president of sales
and marketing of Zoran Corporation.
"After receiving our CSS copy protection license earlier this
month, adding tamper resistant decryption software to SoftDVD and
demonstrating it to potential customers is the next logical step
towards launching it as a product."
Zoran has been working with PC industry leaders such as Dolby
Laboratories and Intel to bring SoftDVD to market since 1996.
SoftPEG-2, Zoran's MPEG-2 video and Dolby Digital audio decoder
software is now shipping with Compaq and Packard Bell personal
computer products.
Complete versions of SoftDVD are planned to be made available to
OEMs in the third quarter of this year.
"We are very pleased to see Zoran's SoftDVD reach this major
milestone in their development process," said Michael Aymar, vice
president and general manager, Desktop Products Group, Intel
Corporation.
"Our MMX technology and Intel's recent contributions to software
copy protection licensing have played a major role in enabling this
exciting new technology. We think products like SoftDVD bundled with
PentiumII systems will become very popular later this year and
throughout 1998."
SoftDVD is a complete software application program which enables
PCs to play DVD content at very low costs. In addition to supporting
SoftPEG-2's MPEG-2 video and Dolby Digital audio decoding, SoftDVD
also includes DVD navigation, a graphical user interface, copy
protection, and 3D audio. SoftDVD is also available for hybrid
hardware/software configurations.
