It was a dumb thing to do then and nothing has changed. The only reason it is looking better now is because memory pricing has collapsed due to the industry doldrums causing the RDRAM premium inconsequential for most desktops.

<I wonder how much that deal cost intel....>

..leading to..
- Several points in market share.
- Billions of dollars in lost profits
