Ken, life is change. If I applied your critique of ABX to all those high tech companies trading on Nasdaq that have seen their shares drop 90% with the Insiders still selling like wildfire today, I'd be ranting and raving against the Insider selling if I was a shareholder who bought one of those high tech companies in March 2000.

Why not give credit where credit is due? ABX did not create the Bear Market in Gold. ABX was wise enough to forsee the longevity of the Gold Bear and they hedged to cushion the downturn somewhat for its shareholders. Why be bullish when the fundamentals don't warrant it? Why should the Insiders at Intel, for instance, buy shares on the open market when there is a tremendous oversupply of chips out there and demand is very weak?

I see the ABX acquisition of HM as an indicator that ABX sees the end of the Gold Bear and a potential steep drop in the value of the U.S. Dollar coming. That is to say, I think ABX is positioning itself accordingly here for the next bull market in Gold.
