Actually, I never said we had made it sent Roe v. Wade without violence. What I said was: We've made it through about thirty years without too much violence, but that could change in a flash. There is a difference between "without too much" and "none". This issue will not go away any more than Slavery would. That's precisely what I'm afraid of. Remember how bad the Civil War was? Well, this could easily be worse. Are you actually willing to wish this on your nation?
