There are still Sore Losermen out there who will gladly remind you that Al Gore won the popular vote.

By the way, which tech companies were notable supporters of the Inventor of the Internet? I know for a fact that Gordon Moore himself was a contributor to the Bush campaign, and Craig Barrett is also a Republican. Not sure about Andy Grove, though I'd imagine he's a Democrat.
