JC- So making a comparison based on the Athlon MP power dissipation is not the right thing to do I'm aware of that, I wasn't basing the A4 vs mobile Tualatin conclusions on your chart. Basically, you can arguably* say that the Tualatin is better, and you can arguably say that the Athlon 4 is better.* Agreed, the A4 IPC is better while the Toolie should be able to hit higher frequencies. But we return to the same general assessment: over the next 6 months to a year, there's no compelling reason for MD to switch from Intel. The Toolie should be pretty cheap to make as well, with a small die size. BTW, for someone who is suffering from some sort of despair-induced writer's block, you write a real nice, and coherent, message. Everyone should do as well as JC... ;-)
