The best compromise is usually to leave it up to the individual. IMO. I think I can follow (but not agree with) your reasoning for the idea that the best policy is to leave it up to the individual but I can't see how you could call that a compromise in this situation. If you have two competeing ideas and it is decided that the law will be based on one of them there isn't a compromise there is instead a straight victory by one idea over the other. Tim
