To take your question literally, no. A slave IS a group of cells. Nothing more. So am I, so are you.

You say "potentially a human." That, of course, begs the question.

Is an embryo a human?

It is a question that can't be answered scientifically, can't be answered by any form of logical proof. It's purely a matter of definition, and all definitions are arbitrary.

Is an embryo capable of living outside it's mother's body more or less human than a 60 year old in a coma who is completely dependent on machines to live? Or, let's say, a person with failed kidneys who is completely dependent on dialysis to live and would die in days if her blood weren't dialyzed? The one is capable of life without aid of machines. The other is not.

What IS a human?????
