Every other designer of RDRAM is either insignificant, or is now using DDR. Every one. No exceptions.
You know, I just give up. Every one huh? Yes, Samsung does dabble in DDR, although they have publically stated they are putting aside DDR production to make more room for RDRAM. Kind of forget about that one?
It is obvious that an honest debate and discussion of these issues is not what your here for. This post alone demonstrates that in spades. So board, lets rename is the Bilow board. It is not about Rambus, or RDRAM, or DDR, or SDRAM, or even EDO. It is about the church of DDR and the devil itself, RDRAM.
There are some things you can take a position in. An honest position. But then there are some things that are so blatantly and incredibly misleading (at best) that its time to hang it up here.
Company's are dropping RDRAM, which is profitable to produce, and which is being driven by Intel's most aggressive product launch to date, and moving all that investment in a profitable product, into DDR? A product that most sources state it being sold for less than cost?
Hmmm, wonder why Micron is on a run rate to burn nearly $2 billion in cash this year, Hyunda is on the verge of bankruptcy, and Infineon is just in plain trouble. Hmmm, seems in stark contrast to a firm like Samsung - but perhaps Samsung will correct its way and start producing that really, really, really, cheap DDR stuff.
I give up. Discuss what you want with Bilow. But if you do, keep in mind he is not discussing this market. He is discussing the church of DDR.
