When we deem it best to "build-into" a position (pyramid in) usually we go in with a half-position; occasionally a third. Each piece is managed as a separate trade... I like to get the first piece to break-even before adding the second (e.g. that was my plan with JNPR this morning). At some point we may switch to an average basis in order to simplify trade management. The conditions that call for scaling in are many and varied, as are the exit strategies... a good topic for one of our upcoming mini-seminars, maybe August or September. A little later this summer we're going to be offering some longer online mini-seminars on the weekend that will be open to anyone that cares to register, at no charge. They will most likely be held on Saturday mornings. The weekday mini-seminars are no extra charge to our members, e.g. tomorrow Ed ("Dr. Fibo") is doing one on trading intraday with Head & Shoulders patterns which will be excellent.
