A disc I burned over the weekend of some of my 6-year old son's favorite songs.....

1. Randy Newman, You've Got A Friend in Me (From Toy Story 1)
2. CCR, Someday Never Comes
3. Beatles, Here Comes The Sun
4. John/Sean Lennon, Sean's Little Help (from Beatles' Anthology)
5. John Lennon, Mother (from Plastic Ono Band)
6. Elton John, Empty Garden (the song about the void left by John Lennon's death)
7. Lenny Kravitz, Fly Away (acoustic version)
8. How the Grinch Stole Christmas ("You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch!")
9. Baha Men, Who Let the Dogs Out?
10. Cat Stevens, Morning Has Broken (one of his sisters played this in a piano recital this Spring)
11. Bob Dylan, Knocking on Heaven's Door
12. Vangelis, Alpha (from The Music of Cosmos)
13. Vangelis, Chariots of Fire
14. John Lennon, Love (also from Plastic Ono Band)
(Note: my son is fascinated by John Lennon, his life, where he got his ideas for songs, his death, everything about him. I left off another several Lennon songs that are also among his favorites.)
15. Annie Lennox, Don't Let it Bring You Down (song written and originally performed by Neil Young, Lennox covered it on her Medusa album)
16. Mary Chapin Carpenter, 10,000 Miles (from the outstanding kids' movie, Fly Away Home)
17. Santana (with Everlast), Put Your Lights On (from Supernatural ("There's a monster, livin under my bed, whisperin' in my ear, and there's an angel, with her hand on my head, she say I got nothin' to fear")
18. Beatles, A Hard Day's Night
19. Beatles, Strawberry Fields Forever

He also likes some of the dreck that all 6 year olds seem to listen to these days, like 'N Sync and the Backstreet Boys. But somehow those didn't find their way onto this CD. <g>
