Dear Derek: It seems all health care is like that. Years ago I used to audit a number of hospitals including names you would likely recognize. I found they had more secretaries then nurses often. These admin heads (and everyone seems to have much more then they need) create these FEIFDOMS where having a Secretary is a status symbol. then of course, they got nothing to do, so they start calling MEETINGS taking Nurses off their jobs. Then to justify their existence they start having paperwork for EVERYTHING. Just so there is something to cross their desks. Meanwhile, the poor nurses have to fill out all this garbage. IMHO Govt is worst and healthcare is a close second for WASTE AND BEURACRACY. Finally, the people who do all the work and create the revenue, the nurses get spit on and very low pay. My wife is a nurse and the BIGGEST raise she ever got was 3%. I used to pay my SECRETARY more then my wife made and my wife was a BSN with 20 years experience. The whole thing is DISGUSTING. Oh, and I forgot about the fancy equipment. The more flashing lights and whistles the better. Then there is the buildings. Have you noticed Hospitals build all these buildings often used for NOTHING except of course those MEETINGS and you cant find a damn parking spot cause they built all over the land? JDN
