Paul:

Once bitten, twice shy...Looks like INTC, now that the walls around the consumer and mobile markets are tumbling down, is attempting to shore up the barriers to entry into the server market, prior to the upcoming inevitable encroachment by AMD into this last (server/workstation) uncontested domain...

No matter what deals INTC cooks now in the server/workstation space, they'll have to deliver price/performance and that has not their strong suit of recent history...Let's just wait to see what AMD brings to the market before we get too carried away about the implications of the recent flurry of press releases...If AMD brings a better price/performance product, we might just see a corresponding flurry of AMD releases...

Besides, AMD is currently fairly preoccupied with gaining market share in the consumer and mobile spaces, which should prop up their q2 results quite nicely...I'd suspect this flurry of activity by INTC in the sever space might be required to mask what might be fairly dismal INTC q2 results!!!
