We seem to be straying from the main point without having resolved it yet.

I have contended that all, or maybe only virtually all, substantive laws constitute the action by one segment of society to inflict their moral beliefs on all of society including those who have a different moral belief. It arose from the comment that you can't legislate morality, which I find one of the sillier statements it's possible to make. We can, we do, we can't make laws and NOT legislate morality.

So far you haven't accepted the invitation to point out a substantive law which doesn't impose a moral viewpoint on at least some people who don't share that viewpoint.

IMO, my position is still standing firm.
