VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Jun 26, 2001 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Security Biometrics Inc. ("The Company") (OTC:SBTI - www.sigbio.com) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Gerard E. Munera as a Director of the company. "The Board of Directors and management consider Mr. Munera's extensive experience, reputation and background in many areas of business and public service to make him ideally suited for an important role in this organization," stated Mr. Kenneth P. Barr, CEO of Security Biometrics Inc. "Mr. Munera brings international relationships with bankers and institutional investors to the company."
Mr. Munera studied at France's premier engineering school, the Ecole Polytechnique (Paris). His more than 40 years of international business experience includes all areas of management, including production, finance, sales and marketing. He served as CEO of Synergex, a private investment company, as well as Minorco (USA) and Union Miniere (Brussels), and as Senior VP, Corporate Planning and Development for RTZ Corporation Plc. Mr. Munera has also served on boards of both private and public companies, including Engelhard, Terra Industries, Minorco, Metallurgie Hoboken, and Compagnie Francaise d'Electrometallurgie. Present directorships include Arcadia Inc., Twin Mining Corporation, Nevsun Resources and Dynamic Materials Corporation.
Mr. Munera has held numerous chairmanships of professional organizations. He is presently Vice President of the French American Chamber of Commerce.
