RPI on J-TECH Team for Military Range Support
BTG Company to Provide Range Technology and Base Support on JT3 Team

Fairfax, Virginia - June 26, 2001 - Research Planning, Inc. (RPI), which was
acquired in April by BTG, Inc. (Nasdaq: BTGI), is a member of a team led by
EG&G and Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) that was selected to support the Joint
Range Technical Services (J-TECH) program. The Joint Test, Tactics and
Training (JT3) team, a joint venture of EG&G and Raytheon, was awarded an
initial one-year $96.7 million contract to support Air Force and Navy
training ranges in California, Utah and Nevada. With options, the contract
has a potential period of performance of 15 years with estimated revenue
value to the team of more than $1.7 billion. Revenue to BTG's RPI unit is
estimated at over $5 million for the base year. The total estimated value of
the contract to BTG during the 15-year period of performance, including all
option years, is $85 million.

The JT3 team will provide engineering and technical services in support of
the test and training mission of the Nevada Test and Training Range, the
Utah Test and Training Range, the Air Force Flight Test Center at Edwards
Air Force Base in California, and the Navy's Electronic Combat Range at
China Lake, California.

Grant Peterson, RPI Vice President for Range Technology and Base Support,
said RPI's principal responsibilities include operational and technical
support to the Naval Air Warfare Center and Electronic Combat Range at China
Lake. Under the contract, RPI will provide support for Radar Development
Test and Evaluation (RDT&E), Time Space Positioning Information (TSPI), Data
Process and Display systems (DP&D), Telemetry, Communications, Computer
Systems, and Bomb and Strafe Range support.

Kevin Wilshere, Senior Vice President of RPI and BTG's Logistics,
Engineering and Training business unit, said: "We are exceptionally pleased
with RPI's role on the successful JT3 team. Operational range and base
support is an important component of BTG's commitment to supporting the
Department of Defense, and complements other corporate offerings in defense
logistics, fielding support, modeling and simulation, and other related
areas."

In addition to Range Technology and Base Support, RPI's business areas
include Defense Programs and Emergency Management. The company is a wholly
owned subsidiary of BTG, Inc., an information systems and technical services
company with 1,800 professionals working throughout the country and
overseas. In addition to Logistics, Engineering and Training, BTG's business
