It's sad. A close friend of mine is a volunteer EMT, and he has told me many a horror story. And those are emergencies, trying to get someone to a hospital! One of the administrators declared that the EMT's had to call a special dispatch (it was little more than a call center - he said some of the people weren't even certified in ANY kind of medical training) in order to administer ANY medication. Garry, being the stubborn bastard he is, ignored those protocols. :) He talked to the lady who came up with such a stupid system, and told her it was bs and he wasn't doing it, and why. She said him and his brother were exempt. Ha!

I didn't realize RN's had it so bad though. I knew they worked LONG hours, the mother of a buddy of mine in PA was an RN, kept an apartment near the hospital in additional to her home. But I had no idea the pay increases were so bad. Here in Houston RN's seem to be paid in gold bricks. ;)
