JW - have we seen any evidence that the Fed cuts are helping Just the opposite. Business is getting subdtantiually worse by the week and now with Euroland about to fall in as well we get a second kicker to the downward screw.

What on earth is the point of the monthly misery of wondering whether Mr G is going to cut interest rates which are at over 4% in an incipient depression. Why didn't he cut them to a beneficial rate in one go or two goes earlier this year?
