Dear Nadine: I ADMIT IMHO the best idea that Clinton had was to reduce medicare age to 55 YET have those interested in joining under 65 pay the entire premium (estimated at approx $400 a month) until they reached 65. This would have been a win win situation IMHO. Why, cause ON AVERAGE people from 55 -65 are healthier than those 65+. Thus if they younger people were paying the full premium in effect they would be underwriting a portion of medicare for older people YET the premium at $400 a month would have been FAR LOWER due to the TREMENDOUS POOL then anything they could buy on their own. Sadly, the Republicans voted it down and yes I am a Republican and Yes, I was ANGRY AS HELL. JDN
