Amy, true, my hyperbole ignored the fact that you continually pressed this point with little notice from most of the thread. The fact that you were either bashed or ignored supports my basic point.
I would have provided you some supporting evidence, but given that I didn't know what a tantalum capacitor was or what its uses were prior to those exchanges, I had to spend some time educating myself.

Regarding analysts, I'll reiterate a point that I try to make continually, but often falls upon deaf ears, partially because I probably don't make it clear enough:
There is a lot of great information contained in a Wall Street analyst report. The most useless information is the analyst's buy/sell recommendation. In fact, if it wasn't for this thread, I wouldn't know what most analysts' opinion of Intel was. As your reprint of some of your old posts notes, you indeed looked beyond the recommendation to look at the data, to your credit. It's too bad that more individual investors don't do the same. |
