EDGE is only a matter of narrow band operators needing to
compete with those with wide band WCDMA licenses.

That is, EDGE is is inevitable.

Tropian have one thing right, it is only a question
of RF technology in base stations.

However, they got one thing wrong, that Nokia has
pointed out, that dynamic, adaptive power and
cellular(sic,fart), mobile(shxt) system
capabilities will ease those demands on the linearity,
etc of base station RF parts.

Handsets are a piece of cake anyway, as long as
few need to transmit steaming videos while
going full speed along the autobahn.
(I understand the sexual stimulus of that, but my
guess is that the paying audience is fairly scarce,
and have no way of detecting a real realtime
video from a premade thing, just like the doctor in cannes)

Similar steaming demands on trains, regular finnish
or japanese bullet ones, can be taken care of by
regular hierarchical systems, even WLAN and bluetooth.

Still believing that regular human-to-human touch
is sexier than moving pictures in the privacy of
ones home, car or train, handsfree or not,
illegal or not in NY.

Btw, New York named after york named after jorvik
and jorvas just outside helsinki.
(that's where you go if you mess up with above
aspects of life)
