<technology enablers for EDGE, seems to be Tropian> One the key players in Tropian is John Brewer. See his web site www.vincio.com and in particular his slide presentation vincio.com See slide nine for the footprint of EDGE. Also, the 3GPP site has some release 4 and release 5 documents. See ftp://ftp.3gpp.org/Specs/2001-06/ Most of the folders are empty but the documents that do exist cover GSM, and EDGE. Also High Speed Circuit Switched Data [(HSCSD) Stage 1(Release 2000)]is covered. Does this mean that WCDMA is fading away and 3G will evolve into GSM, EDGE and HSCSD? -- In the old days, a person would telnet into a site, do a few LS -ALs and CDs and then FTP the night away. Now best to just drag the files or perhaps a high level folder to a place on a local hard disk and then find something else to do for a few hours. Much faster to root around a local drive .
