Hi Poet,
I am so happy to see you posting again.. To know you are out there doing what you do best.. :)
Thinking about what you wrote..and you finished with this.
"I would rather believe that life is good, despite being riddled with (and at times overrun by) pain and injustice.
What other ways are there to think about it? ""
I think of life, as you say, filled with "pain and injustice" but also with equal good.. That allows for someone else, to move into that "black hole" of pain and injustice and "do good".. And life becomes "good" for them by helping those that are mired in that black hole,.. So maybe life is a "zero sum game".. Sort of like futures, using a crass analogy.. And it cycles back and forth like a sine wave for each individual, with some being "on top", and others " down a bit, at any one time.. With the X-axis being equilibrium, above that, "life is easy" while below that "life is a challenge". Not saying that either side is good or bad. It is just the way it is.. A person recharges themselves above, readying themselves for the challenges below the axis.. And eventually we end up "even", hopefully taking the good from both sides while learning from the bad from both sides... I don't know..
But I have seen "the clouds from both sides now", stealing lines and paraphrasing from someone famous.. So I believe it.. personally and from people around me...
So take care and keep up the good work..
