Hi Steve,
Yes, you can configure and buy a Precision workstation from Dell with the Matrox G200 MMS quad right off the website. Same with Compaq. Only restriction is that you have to buy a workstation with the PIII MPU in order to get the quad monitor card. From what I'm told this is due to a motherboard bug Intel discovered some months ago with the P4. Can't tell you which is best as I have looked into the Colorgraphic cards, along with Appian, but have no firsthand experience with them. Key for me was a factory installed configuration, with my thinking being that testing would have been done and it should work right out of the box. This has been my experience, once I set the machine up and loaded the trading software, it worked perfectly and I was off and running. I did have one glitch though, and it surfaced about a month after purchase. I initially ran with three flat panels, and when I added a fourth, it would intermittently go blank. I'd wiggle one of the video cables, and it would come back on. Dell replaced the Matrox card with a new one, and it has been rock solid ever since. Appian has been around for quite some time, but for whatever reason, Matrox seems to 'own' the large manufacturers, as Dell, Compaq, and IBM (Intellistation) all ship the Matrox quad card.

Best regards,
John
