I doubt they are, whatever misdirection may have been given out. The total number of 4-way and larger servers sold is limited, and the buyers of those systems aren't going to be moving en mass to AMD based systems no matter what.

OTOH, the market for 2 way workstations and servers is quite large and much more willing to experiment - especially the workstation market. Plenty of room there for AMD to make some sales.

And the benchmarks from the dual Athlons have been spectacular, good enough to get some systems trickling out into the field even in the middle of this server market collapse.

But significant demand for 4-way and 8-way systems from AMD? Not near term, at least, I don't think so.
