DDR RAM is definitely not gone, not forgotten, and not going away any time soon, primarily thanks to AMD embracing it and Intel hedging its bets by supporting it for the P4. In fact, it’s still evolving. For proof, witness the fact that Kentron Technologies tells us that its 1GB DDR memory module has been approved for Tyan's Thunder K7 motherboard, making it an approved DDR supplier for the platform.
