EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 28, 2001--Infonet Services Corp. (NYSE:IN - news; FSE:IN), a leading provider of global communications services for multinationals, today announced a new partnership with Telkom SA, the leading communications operator in South Africa.
Under the terms of the agreement, which commenced as of May 2001, Telkom SA will offer Infonet's global data services to its client base, seamlessly integrating its existing national fixed line and mobile services. Conversely, the partnership with Telkom also provides existing Infonet clients with access to a broad range of voice and data services in South Africa.
Through the partnership with Infonet, Telkom SA clients will benefit from Infonet's global network services, which facilitate high-speed data transmission using the Infonet World Network(TM). As the company has been undertaking a significant network expansion and modernization program in recent years, these services become part of an ongoing enhancement to Telkom SA's product offering.
