Hi Paul, *OT*

I use the system for trading. Funny you asked yesterday as I just happened to buy and sell 17k shares of Intel for a half point profit (now don't tell me I should have held into today and sold a point higher <ggg>). Three of the panels run windows with quote feeds, NASDAQ Level II, charts, and a direct access execution module. I split the fourth into two 'surfing' windows, one for SI and the other for whatever else I happen to be looking at. Denni is correct, the machine comes preconfigured with a Matrox G200 MMS quad monitor video card. Most of the major workstation manufacturers now ship machines with this card, and you can buy right off the web. The Matrox card also supports direct digital connection LCD's, which is how I run. Someone else asked for info on the Daytrading Fundamentals thread the other day, so here are some specs on the card. It comes with a software package that allows you to open, size, and then save application windows on each LCD. Nice feature, as I just start up all the stuff in the morning, and it automagically opens and positions on each LCD. There are a couple of other manufacturers that make these cards, among them Appian Graphics and Colorgraphic.

Regards,
John

Well hello PA Trader, hope all is well! I've been running a Dell Precision workstation with the Matrox G200 MMS quad monitor video card since April, under WIN2K. Not one crash or hang since buying the machine, run Cybercorp and DTN/IQ quote feeds simultaneously, along with a couple of windows open to surf, etc. I run four Dell 17" flat panels off the card in digital mode, at 1280 x 1024 resolution at true color. The card supports both analog connections (CRT/LCD) and digital for LCD. Not sure what resolution you are interested in, but here is the relevant data off the Matrox website. The card lists for $699 (PCI) on the Matrox website (analog model). Cables for digital LCD connection are an additional $120 or so. You can get the card in a preconfigured workstation solution from both Dell and Compaq. That is the way I went as I am 'past' the 'upgrade hell' phase of my life <ggg>...
Best regards,
John
